The Walking Dead first premiered on October 31, 2010 on AMC, and is still going strong. This show is based on the comic book series, which are written by Robert Kirkman. It is the most-watched drama series in basic cable history.
I started watching this show a couple of years ago with my family. The main idea is that a sheriff, Rick Grimes, wakes up from a coma to find that the zombie apocalypse has started. He sets off on a journey to find his wife, Lori, and his son, Carl. I have to warn you, there is plenty of violence and gore in this show, so beware if you have a weak stomach.
However, if you can get past the violence and gore, you will find an incredible story with amazing and lovable characters. You will cry with them and laugh with them as they struggle to survive in this new world.
I would recommend watching this show from the beginning, otherwise you could get confused very quickly. But if you can’t start from the beginning, you can catch it every Sunday night at 9:00 PM on AMC.
If you want more, after every new episode, there is a talk show called “The Talking Dead”, hosted by Chris Hardwick. Each week he has cast members and celebrities join him in a discussion about the current episode.
